About Direct Care
Direct Care is modelled on a therapeutic approach to childcare. As part of this approach there is careful use of behaviour modification techniques around rewards and sanctions, pocket money, household chores and contribution to domestic routine. This allows young people to regain elements of control in a healthy way whilst contributing to family style living.
Direct Care has seven residential homes in Northamptonshire, Lincolnshire and Norfolk, each of which can look after up to four young people at any one time. As well as providing a formal education we also focus on teaching the young people skills that will equip them to live a happy, healthy and independent life. We put a strong emphasis on the value of learning through experience and teach them how to take control of their lives.
Direct Care aims to raise the bar on standards of childcare and all our employees are carefully chosen for their passion and enthusiasm as well as extensive skills and experience. As a small company we are a naturally close knit team and everyone has a voice from staff to the young people.
The management team are equally as committed to childcare as the rest of the staff and their hands on approach sets Direct Care apart from other care providers. Each home is visited regularly and inspected on a monthly basis and any problems dealt with swiftly and efficiently. We believe we can make a difference to young people’s lives. Choice is an important part of our ethos and by choosing Direct Care you are giving children the chance to have a positive future.
‘Every child in our care is treated as an individual and their care and education are tailored accordingly.’ - Member of Residential Staff
